Hello people!! How are you doing?? THREE months ago I created this blog to share and help students and friends and it became a great way to practice!! PRESENT SIMPLE/SIMPLE PRESENT

Hello folks!! How have you been?? Let’s practice, study and share our English doubts and ideas about the Simple Present Tense/Present Simple tense!! Hereeeee weeee goooo!!!

The simple present tense in English is used to describe an action that is regular, true or normal. We use the Simple Present:
1. For habits/routines;
  • Yasmim brushes her teeth twice a day.

2. For repeated or regular actions in the present time period;
  • Michael sleeps eight hours every night during the week.

3. For facts;
  • The USA President lives in The White House.

In general, in the third person(He/She/It) we add 'S' in the third person.

1. For verbs that end in -O, -CH, -SH, -SS, -X, or -Z we add -ES in the third person(He/She/It).
Examples:
  • go – goes
  • catch – catches
  • wash – washes
  • kiss – kisses
  • fix – fixes
  • buzz – buzzes

2. For verbs that end in a consonant + Y, we remove the Y and add -IES.
Examples:
  • marry – marries
  • study – studies
  • carry – carries
  • worry – worries

RECIPE OF CABBAGE SALAD

Hello people!! How have you been?? Let's practice and study about this simple, easy and healthy recipe of a great and delicious salad!! Hereeee weeee gooo!! Let's speak English!!



Cabbage Salad or Cole Slaw


The origin of Cole Slaw is Dutch and was known in the United States since 1792.

SALAD DRESSING:

1 cup mayonnaise

4 scallions, chopped

1 tablespoon  ketchup

a few dashes of Worcestershire sauce


2 teaspoons vinegar


1/4 teaspoon salt

a pinch of pepper

1/4 teaspoon sugar

SALAD:

6 cups shredded cabbage



1 grated carrot



1 green pepper, finely diced


* Combine the first 8 ingredients and mix well. In a large serving bowl, toss the salad. Add the dressing and mix. Serves 6 or more.

Translation(Portuguese - Brazil)

COLE SLAW ou CABBAGE SALAD (Salada de Repolho)

A origem do Cole Slaw é holandesa. Ele é conhecido nos Estados Unidos desde 1792.

MOLHO:

1 xícara de maionese

4 folhas de cebolinha picada

1 colher de sopa de catchup

algumas gotas de molho inglês

2 colheres de chá de vinagre

1/4 colher de chá de sal

uma pitada de pimenta-do-reino

1/4 colher de chá de açúcar

SALADA:

6 xícaras de repolho picado

1 cenoura ralada

1 pimentão bem picado

* Junte a maionese, o catchup, a cebolinha, o vinagre, o molho inglês, o sal, a pimenta e o açúcar e 
misture bem. Numa saladeira funda, misture a salada revirando-a com duas colheres. Acrescente o molho e misture. Rende 6 ou mais porções.

"USED TO"

Hello people!! How have you been?? I hope you guys are great!! Sorry but we had some technical problems with the website but now everything is ok!! Thanks God!! Let’s practice, study and share our English doubts and ideas about “USED TO”. Hereee weeee goo!!!


We use 'used to' for something that happened regularly in the past but no longer happens;

Example:

I used to smoke a lot but I stopped three years ago.



We also use for something that  was true but  no longer is;

Example:

I used to be married but now I am single.


We also use to talk about past habits;

Example:

Joe used to play ping pong in his childhood.



Let’s check the affirmative, negative and interrogative form of the sentences:

Affirmative Form

Roger used to dance Macarena.


Negative Form

Roger didn’t use to dance Macarena.



Interrogative Form

Did Roger use to dance Macarena?
