DEFINITE ARTICLE "THE"

Hello guys!! How have you been? Let's practice, study and share our English doubts and ideas about the Definite Article "THE". Let's study and practice this easy and simple grammar!!

"THE" is used in the same form for singular and plural for all genders of nouns. It's used:

• when the object is unique or represents only one particular thing;

Example: The sky is full of black clouds.

• before a noun which has already benn mentioned;

Example: Jack has just bought a new book. It's the book he had been looking for in all bookstores he could think of.

• before superlatives;

Example: Janet is the best secretary our company has ever had.

• before certain proper name of the seas, rivers, deserts, etc;

Example: The Sahara is one the places I'd like to visit.
